A Star Is Born.
Johnny Cash With His Hot And Blue Guitar! is the debut album by American music legend Johnny Cash, released on October 11, 1957, and was the first album released on the Sun Records label. With His Hot And Blue Guitar! contains four of his hit singles: „I Walk the Line“, „Cry, Cry, Cry“, „So Doggone Lonesome“ and „Folsom Prison Blues“. Cash applied to the Sun Records music label in 1955, but failed to impress its founder Sam Philips as a gospel singer. Cash was told to come back with a more commercial sound, as Philips believed gospel wouldn‘t sell. Cash returned, and how. With the songs „Hey Porter!“ and „Cry, Cry, Cry,“ Johnny Cash, who grew up in poor circumstances, launched his world career. Until his death on September 12, 2003, Cash wrote over 1,000 songs. His musical work remains one of the most valuable in modern music history. His cross-genre music included country, rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk and gospel. This crossover appeal earned him the rare honor of being inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll and Gospel Music Halls of Fame.
