A-wop-bop-a-loo-bop.
The history of rock and pop culture would be different without Little Richard. He symbolizes the rebellion of rock music like no other artist. With his hair done up, make-up like a woman, he stirred up the prudish 1950s as a gay and black musician. He played his concerts in front of whites and blacks, which was also something unbelievable and indecent at that time. For Elvis Presley Little Richard was „The Greatest“, Michael Jackson took his extravagant stage outfits as a model, David Bowie and Prince followed his colourful make-up and androgynous appearance. Little Richard has influenced whole generations up to the present. He is among the first ten members of the „Rock ‚n Roll Hall of Fame“. On 9 May 2020 Little Richard died at the age of 87 years. With this one of the greatest leaves the stage forever.
